Local insight: what works in Evanston homes
A few patterns we've noticed in higher-end West Calgary builds:
- Primary closets are framed-in. Most Evanston homes have a 6×8 walk-in shape ready to be fit out — the builder leaves a shelf and rod.
- 9-foot ceilings are standard. Full-height wardrobes are the move; half-height ones leave dust-trap gaps.
- Mudrooms by the garage. Evanston double-garage entries usually frame a perfect 4×6 mudroom — tall-bench-tall is the most-requested layout.
- Pantry retrofits are common. We add walk-in pantries adjacent to the kitchen more often in Evanston than almost anywhere else NW.
